DTV Digital Converter Box Coupon Program

ConverterDigital Converter Box, Set-top Box and Digital-to-Analog Converter Box are all the same; they are clever devices that takes a digital signal and converts it so that it can be displayed on an analog television. The reason why there is a need for a digital converter box is that the federal government has required all television broadcasters to end the transmission of analog signals on February 17, 2009. So, if you have an analog television, it will need to have an digital converter box connected to it for the reception of the new over the air digital signal.

CouponThe next most important aspect about the federal coupon program is the funding; the federal government has given the FCC $1.5 billion dollars to help the general public pay for a new digital converter box. The funding will be given out in $40 dollar coupons, with two given out per household. One coupon can only be used per digital converter box; plus the coupon will expire within 90 days of being mailed.

Remember that you can only use the $40 dollar coupon with FCC approved retailers and digital converter boxes!

DigitalConverterBox.org was created so that the general public could have a trusted site where a lot of the confusion about the federal coupon program can be understood.
